Measures promoted by MINEC have recovered and boosted the salvadoran economy

The Ministerio de Economía (MINEC) has implemented strategies that have allowed the country to recover, in record time, after the various shocks that have affected the world and have impacted the nation, including the COVID-19 and the inflationary crisis, achieving sustained growth of the salvadoran economy.

The leadership of the President and his firm commitment to ensure the welfare of salvadorans has allowed him to act in a proactive and successful manner, which has resulted in greater economic dynamism, attracting tourism and creating more decent jobs.

The minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, highlighted the public policies implemented by the Central Government that have led the country to consolidate economic growth, which at the end of 2022 was 2.6%.

Strategic projects, increased exports, remittances and the arrival of new investments have added to this result.

The head of MINEC highlighted among the projects implemented the National Trade Facilitation Strategy, which has allowed the simplification of procedures, in order to reduce time and costs in the exchange of goods.

With this, greater business competitiveness is achieved, more investments are attracted, more sources of employment are generated, in order to improve the quality of life of salvadorans.

The institution knows the importance of working with the business sector to have sustainable solutions to development, stresses that, through the process of simplification and digitization, the Investment Directorate of the ministry went from 31 procedures to 10.

She said that, currently, there is more interest from international investors in establishing their businesses in the country, coming from booming sectors such as trade, tourism and textile.
