MINEC promotes economic development through the Law for the Promotion of Innovation

Written by Evelyn Alas

The Ministerio de Economía (MINEC), promotes law initiatives that contribute to the economic growth and sustained development of the country, in order to improve the quality of life of salvadorans.

One of them is the Law for the Promotion of Innovation and Technological Manufacturing, which was approved last april by the Legislative Assembly at the initiative of the President and is already in force in the country.

This law marks a before and after in the economic and technological sector development. This law and all the work we have been doing to create a favorable business climate will allow local, international and multinational companies to establish themselves in the country, enjoying such important benefits for 15 years.

The official mentioned that among the benefits that will be provided to the companies are the exemption of Income Tax (ISR) and customs duties on the importation of goods, inputs, machinery, equipment and tools necessary for the development of the incentivized activity.

This is another great project of the country, to be able to promote the technological sector, it is a sector that generates opportunities, well remunerated, for our population. Since the Central Government announced this law, they have seen a great interest from our technology sector, which is a very strong sector. They are seeing El Salvador as an attractive country to establish their investments.

The minister of Economy affirmed that the entity that she directs worked on the regulation and an agile system so that the investors interested in establishing their companies in the territory, no matter where they are, can make their application by means of a virtual system.

Hayem remarked that everything has been well planned so that when the law enters into force there will be all the conditions for companies to establish, operate and grow in the country, in an agile and efficient way.

This will lead to generate more sources of employment, with better salaries, which will allow to forge a better future for salvadorans.
