The Government of El Salvador, through the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), advances direct support to agricultural producers with the delivery of key inputs for the development of the 2026 agricultural cycle. The deputy minister and honorary of the MAG, Óscar Domínguez, informed that the free distribution of fertilizers at home has been carried out, benefiting organized farmers in Agrocéntros at national level.
According to the official, a dozen trucks were deployed to transport thousands of quintals of allowance previously acquired by producers. Logistics allowed inputs to reach their communities directly, reducing transportation costs and facilitating timely access to these essential products.
The fertilizers delivered have been sold at prices below the market, which represents a significant relief for farmers, especially in a context where production costs can be increased by external factors such as the international price of agricultural inputs. This effort seeks to strengthen the productive capacity of the sector and ensure better conditions for the beginning of the week.
According to information, these inputs will allow producers to prepare their lands in the coming weeks, with a view to starting the production process at the end of April. The authorities have recommended starting agricultural work from april 23rd, a close that responds to technical criteria related to the expected behavior of water and soil conditions.
Early access to fertilizers is key to improving crop yields, which allows for adequate land preparation and more efficient plant nutrition from the first stages of growth. This, in turn, has a direct impact on productivity and the quality of harvests.
In addition to the economic benefit, home delivery represents an advance in logistical terms, in bringing inputs to rural areas where access may be limited. For many producers, this type of initiative reduces barriers and facilitates the planning of their agricultural activities.
The call from the authorities is clear: improve the current conditions and prepare for the start of the week. With the motto “Everyone continues!”, MAG seeks to encourage the active participation of farmers in this new cycle, promoting national production and strengthening food security.
