In a radio interview, the President of the Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA)Rubén Alemán, stated that since the Transitory Decree that forgives the payment of fines and arrears went into effect, it has benefited 25 thousand users.

This provision has allowed the Administrator of the vital liquid to recover US$2.5 million which it did not have before, but which it has been able to recover today thanks to this action.

This decree is valid until december 31, 2023, so a call is made to people who still have outstanding payments with the Institution can come forward and make use of this benefit.

That is to say, ANDA users who have fallen into arrears for non-payment of the water service bill can pay only the debt for the service at ANDA's offices.

This represents a financial relief and a real benefit for the population since the approved decree allows people to request a payment plan of up to 12 months if they do not have the full amount of the debt.

The head of ANDA expressed that the goal is to reach US$3 million collected by the end of this year in payments through this benefit.

This is a measure that for the second consecutive year generates a relief to the economy of salvadoran families. The money recovered will be invested in new projects that will contribute to improve the potable water service in the country, said the official.
