Superintendencia del Sistema Financiero reports 4.6% increase in bank savings

According to data from the Superintendencia del Sistema Financiero, savings continued to increase during the first month of the year.

As of january 31, 2024, savings accounts in the banking sector showed a 4.6% growth, compared to the same month of 2023. This reflects the fact that users are allocating resources to savings.

For the month of january 2023, an income from bank savings of US$5,950.80 million was reported; the last update in january 2024 reports an income in salvadoran savings accounts of US$6,222.09 million.

This increase represents US$271.3 million more than last year. This income is measured according to the institution in bank accounts, cooperative banks and the Sistema Arancelario Centroamericano (SAC).
