Tegra Global seeks to expand in the country to generate more jobs

The Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, visited Tegra Global, a company dedicated to the manufacture of sports apparel for renowned international brands that dress athletes.

The meeting between the minister and representatives of Tegra Global aims to learn about the company's expansion plans in the country and the strategic projects to be implemented.

In El Salvador, Tegra Global expanded, for the first time, its operations in 2021, from 3 to 5 plants in American Industrial Park, to generate 2,000 jobs in the country and together with its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, generates approximately 14,000 jobs.

It offers diverse and integrated product development and design, cutting and sewing capabilities through its plants located in Central America, Honduras and El Salvador, and the United States.

The company is also currently investing in several key areas, including digital transformation initiatives, lean manufacturing programs, and facility modernization.

According to the official, the Central Government promotes the development of the textile industry and generates the conditions to continue attracting foreign investment to the country.

She said that the export sector has had a significant growth and only to february of this year had grown more than 14 %, and imports have had a very positive behavior, increasing by more than 34 % to february of this year.

Among these imports is the entry of machinery and sustainable growth that will generate more employment opportunities for salvadorans and more growth for our economy.
