The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) announced the awarding of over US$331,000 in seed capital to 178 graduates of the “Mujer Emprende”, program, as part of efforts to expand opportunities for salvadoran women entrepreneurs.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between CONAMYPE, ISDEMU, Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores and Agencia de El Salvador para la Cooperación Internacional (Agencia Esco). The funds were distributed within the framework of the “Empoderamiento de las Mujeres” project, financed by the European Union and the AECID.
The resources will allow the beneficiaries to strengthen different areas of their businesses. The capital can be used for the acquisition of productive assets and raw materials, as well as for innovation processes, brand identity development, and the improvement of business spaces.
With these investments, women entrepreneurs will be able to strengthen the productive and commercial capacities of their businesses, creating better conditions to continue developing their economic activities.
The “Mujer Emprende”, program also seeks to contribute to women’s economic autonomy and productive inclusion by providing tools that allow them to strengthen their ventures and expand their growth opportunities.
According to CONAMYPE, these types of actions are part of the coordinated efforts between national institutions and cooperation agencies to support women entrepreneurs and promote the development of their businesses.
In total, 178 women who graduated from the program received more than US$331,000 in seed capital, resources that will be used directly in their ventures to boost their productive, commercial, and innovative capacity.
