Secretariat of Innovation inaugurated the IT Risk Assessment Course

The head of the Secretariat of Innovation, Daniel Méndez, inaugurated the IT Risk Assessment Course (information technology), which is carried out with the support of the Latin America and Caribbean Cyber Competence Centre (Centro de Competencia Cibernética de América Latina y el Caribe).

Méndez said that with this course, public officials will have the opportunity to learn and learn from experts what are the strategies and new tactics to strengthen their institutions and be more prepared for the digital environment.

The official signed a collaboration agreement in the field of cybersecurity with the purpose of strengthening the technology portfolio through training initiatives, transfer of technological knowledge and the strategic exchange of information on threats related to cybersecurity.

"We are signing an agreement together with Fortinet to improve digital capabilities and skills in cybersecurity issues for all Salvadorans, this includes the private and public sector", said the official, who added that this is done so that "our population can have better knowledge on how to deal with different cyber threats that afflict us today".

The event was also attended by the vice president of Fortinet, Marc Asturias, who said that this agreement seeks to generate a positive impact on citizens learning about cybersecurity and technical skills. Asturias highlighted the work done in El Salvador.

"We want to express our gratitude to the Government of El Salvador, we see that they are taking very positive steps on the issue of cybersecurity, national security and the welfare of the country", he said.
