Where to travel to during Easter Week?

Written by Karla Gutiérrez

During the Easter break and the beginning of summer, salvadorans, as well as foreign tourists, travel to different destinations in the country to enjoy the summer season.

The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, informed that for this season the projection is to receive more than 4.2 million people who will visit the main attractions, among them the national parks, beaches and the Historic Center of the capital, San Salvador.

Authorities project that close to 126,000 international visitors will arrive in the country and could bring in more than US$110 million during Easter Week, which will be celebrated from march 24 to april 30. Many of these tourists will arrive by air from the United States, but others will travel by land from neighboring Guatemala and Honduras, as well as other countries in the region, so El Salvador is ready to receive them with its attractions.

During the season, there are travelers looking for destinations that allow them to disconnect from the routine, daily stress, and recharge energies in contact with nature; while there are others who like to enjoy the traditions of the season and move to places where they can live them to the fullest.

Josef Valdez, Cristóbal Colón commercial manager for the Northern Triangle of Central America, offers data and information on the most visited places in and around El Salvador during this season.
