The Government of El Salvador, in collaboration with representatives of Spain, held a strategic dialogue with spanish businessmen interested in starting or expanding operations in the country. The Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, and the Spanish Ambassador to El Salvador, Sonia Álvarez Cibanal, led the working group, focused on promoting investment opportunities that boost socioeconomic development and job creation for salvadoran families.

During the meeting, Hayem highlighted the legal security and stability that El Salvador offers to investors, emphasizing that factors such as the reduction of violence and the agility in business procedures position the country as an attractive destination. “Security, a basic right, today is a luxury in many countries, but here we guarantee a solid business climate for companies to operate and grow”, said the head of the country.
Ambassador Álvarez Cibanal underscored the profile of the participating Spanish companies, characterized by their solid track record and long-term commitment. “They are companies with a presence in Latin America that generate employment, transfer knowledge and contribute to local development”, she explained. Attendees included both firms already established in the country and new ones interested in exploring sectors such as energy, tourism and technology.
The event allowed businessmen to learn first-hand about the salvadoran economic context, tax advantages and priority projects for investment. They also shared successful experiences and reiterated their interest in contributing to the country’s growth, taking advantage of the stability and reforms promoted by the government.
With this initiative, El Salvador strengthens its economic and diplomatic ties with Spain, while advancing in its strategy to attract foreign capital to boost the local economy and improve the quality of life of its population through formal employment and sustainable development.
