The Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, Felix Ulloa Jr., represented the country at the 2nd Annual Policy Summit organized by the Canadian Blockchain Consortium in Ottawa, Canada, a space that brought together international leaders in digital economy, technological innovation, and digital assets. This participation reaffirms the salvadoran commitment to the development of a solid and cutting-edge digital ecosystem, with an active presence in the most relevant global forums.

During the summit, the President of the Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales de El Salvador, Juan Carlos Reyes, had an outstanding intervention in the panel “Unlocking growth: how federal legislation can support the Canadian digital asset industry”. In his presentation, Reyes emphasized that El Salvador is the only country in the world with a specialized regulatory institution for digital assets, a fact that was received with great interest and recognition by the international attendees.
Vice President Ulloa held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Economy and Labor of the Government of Bermuda, Jason Hayward. At this meeting, the Caribbean official expressed his interest in learning about the salvadoran model of digital transformation, which led to a formal invitation to visit El Salvador and explore opportunities for cooperation in this emerging field.

El Salvador’s participation in this international forum reinforces its position as a global benchmark in digital assets, thanks to its innovative policies and specialized regulatory framework. El Salvador’s experience continues to generate attention and admiration in multilateral spaces, attracting interest from governments, companies, and technology experts.
The event was also attended by Canadian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Jeff Booth, who recently met with President Nayib Bukele and the Ambassador of El Salvador in Canada, Ricardo Cisneros, thus consolidating a diplomatic and business network that enhances the international projection of the country in the digital field.
