The Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA) has initiated a crucial investment of US$668,000 in the installation of 660 meters of new pipeline in San Salvador, specifically between the Texaco Loma Linda gas station and the Árbol de la Paz traffic circle. This modernization seeks to optimize water distribution and significantly reduce leakage losses, generating a positive long-term economic impact.
ANDA’s President, Jorge Castaneda, emphasized that this intervention is a historic transformation, not carried out in 40 years, involving the installation of a new 3.2 kilometer system. The magnitude of the project underscores the government’s commitment to a resilient water infrastructure, providing economic benefits by avoiding costly future repairs.
The new pipe, made of high-density polyethylene, guarantees greater strength and durability, which is crucial to minimize supply interruptions and, therefore, the economic impact on homes and businesses. This material reduces the likelihood of leaks and improves seismic resistance, protecting public investment and ensuring service stability.
This project will directly benefit 25,000 people, with a total investment of US$668,000, including pipeline changes in the Los Héroes neighborhood and the installation of regulating valves.
