As part of its commitment to the education of salvadoran youth and the promotion of high-impact educational opportunities, Crecer, a leading savings and investment company, sponsored the InspiraSTEM conference, an intensive three-day academic program that brought together 100 outstanding salvadoran students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.
InspiraSTEM is an initiative led by salvadoran scientists residing in the United States. It seeks to provide participating students with advanced knowledge in fields such as biology, physics, computer science, and data analysis, in addition to direct contact with professionals who have achieved personal growth and international careers from El Salvador.

“The workshops were an enriching experience that allowed me to learn, for example, about data analysis. The lectures, which focused on the experiences of salvadorans in doctoral programs, also provided me with valuable information about postgraduate research opportunities, especially at universities in the United States. This opportunity broadened my perspective on science and technology and motivated me to continue exploring areas such as astronomy and computational biology”, said José Zamora, an event participant.
Thanks to Crecer’s sponsorship, participants were able to pay for meals, travel expenses for students from the east and west of the country, three $100 prizes were awarded to the best research projects, and a visit from 11 STEM professionals and scientists from internationally renowned institutions.

“At Crecer, we believe in the potential these spaces must strengthen the skills of future professionals. Contributing through this sponsorship motivates us to continue building bridges and providing opportunities that foster the development and vision of the future of young salvadorans”, said Ingrid Rodas, Client, and Brand manager at Crecer.
The event took place from july 23rd to 25th and brought together outstanding students from 17 different universities across the country. They underwent a pre-selection process to participate free of charge thanks to the support of companies like Crecer, which are committed to educating the next generation.
“Crecer is a company deeply committed to the educational impact of young people beginning their adult and working lives. Thanks to the support of companies committed to the educational development of Salvadoran youth, such as Crecer, the opportunity has been opened to award scholarships to 100 young people who have demonstrated outstanding merit and a strong desire to continue their education in STEM fields”, said Jessica Altschul de Cabrero, digital marketing director of FerocidAD.

During InspiraSTEM, participants received individual mentoring and attended six technical workshops and two keynote presentations given by leading salvadoran scientists such as Miguel Montalvo, a PhD student in astrophysics, and Fernanda Sulantay, a PhD student in Chemical Engineering, who currently work at prestigious institutions such as NASA, Yale, Princeton, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, and the Politecnico di Milano.
In addition to sponsoring this important activity, Crecer was part of the event’s agenda with the talk “Effective Strategies for Applying for International Scholarships and Academic Opportunities”.
“Continuing education is key to personal and professional growth, especially in a world of constant technological evolution. Crecer is committed to supporting young people on this journey, providing them with tools, experiences, and role models that motivate them to continue learning and improving”, concluded Jessica Altschul de Cabrero.
