The Government has channeled an investment of nearly US$400,000 in the La Campanera neighborhood of Soyapango, focusing these resources directly on security infrastructure.

This capital was allocated to create a modern police headquarters that seeks not only operational efficiency but also the dignification of the police’s work in service to the population.
Through their ministries of Security and Social Development, the new police headquarters in the La Campanera neighborhood of Soyapango was handed over, highlighting public investment as a fundamental pillar for consolidating territorial security.
The minister of Security, Gustavo Villatoro, and the Minister of Defense, Francis Merino Monroy, were accompanied by the Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, whose presence underscores the inter-institutional approach that unites security with social and housing development.

More than 10,000 residents benefited
La Campanera was a critical point of control for the 18th gang, whose residents suffered threats and crimes from criminal groups. Now, with the terrorists in prison, the focus is on ensuring the peace of mind of the more than 10,000 residents.
Minister Sol’s presence at the handover highlights the importance of investment in security for the housing sector. The recovery of these areas, historically dominated by the 18th gang, is an essential step for the Ministry of Housing to develop projects and offer housing solutions and legal security to the families residing in the neighborhood.
The investment in the new police headquarters is considered by the Government as a catalyst for social well-being. By ensuring permanent territorial control, the necessary conditions are created for social institutions, including the Ministry of Housing, to promote local development and infrastructure projects, which translates directly into an improvement in the community’s quality of life.
