The Asociación Salvadoreña de Cardiología held the 46th Congreso Nacional de Cardiología, an event in which renowned cardiologists from different countries will update the national community on advances in cardiac medicine.

And as is a long-awaited tradition that has been held for more than 16 years, Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute brings a renowned multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, who will be the main speakers during the Congress. The group will be led by salvadoran physician Dr. Ramón Quesada, director of innovation in interventional and structural cardiology and director of cardiac research at the Institute.
Also present will be cardiologists Dr. Juan G. López and Dr. Carlos E. Alfonso, the latter director of chronic total obstruction and complex percutaneous coronary intervention at the Institute.
The Congress is organized by the Asociación Salvadoreña de Cardiología and will bring together salvadoran cardiologists and physicians from different specialties, who will be updated on advances in cardiac medicine.
The topics addressed by this team of international experts focus on the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, from new noninvasive imaging techniques to evaluate circulation in the coronary arteries to comprehensive approaches to treating complex valve and arterial conditions, as well as innovative procedures that improve the quality of life of patients with chronic angina.

Baptist Health offers world-class cardiovascular care, led by top-level specialists who employ the most advanced technology with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. From the initial consultation to recovery, everyone’s well-being, goals, and comfort guide every medical decision. The team listens, supports, and personalizes each treatment to meet the unique needs of patients, because they are at the heart of everything they do.
Dr. Quesada has always emphasized that one of the Institute’s pioneering actions in cardiovascular health was the creation, in 1987, of a Heart Team, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients with heart disease. Part of this team is now returning to El Salvador to share their knowledge. “For us, the exchange of ideas and experiences with our colleagues in El Salvador is essential because it expands the opportunities for knowledge in cardiovascular medicine and science in general”, he said.
