The Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador reported that, during february 2026, the CIEX El Salvador platform registered outstanding activity in foreign trade, with special emphasis on the volume of exports processed online.
According to official data, more than 14,263 online exports were authorized, a figure that reflects the dynamism of the Salvadoran export sector and the growing use of digital tools to facilitate these processes. This volume shows how companies are taking advantage of technology to manage their operations in a more agile way, reducing time and optimizing resources.

One of the most relevant aspects is the speed of the system, since CIEX allows exporters and importers to obtain authorization in just 37 seconds, which represents a significant advance in the modernization of procedures and in the country’s competitiveness in international trade.
In contrast, during the same period, more than 17,348 online imports were also registered, a data that complemented the commercial panorama, although the prominence is maintained by exports due to their direct contribution to the national economy.

The Government of El Salvador promotes this type of digital platforms as part of its strategy to strengthen institutional efficiency, improve transparency and facilitate access to services for the productive sector.
Altogether, the more than 14 thousand exports authorized in february 2026 reflect not only a constant flow of goods to international markets, but also the positive impact of digitalization in simplifying procedures, consolidating CIEX as a key tool for the country’s foreign trade.
