As part of its Economic Diplomacy strategy to boost tourism and strengthen the country’s international standing, the Embassy of El Salvador in Singapore held a working meeting with the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS), the leading association of travel agencies and tour operators in that country.
The meeting aimed to promote El Salvador as a tourist destination and explore opportunities for collaboration to increase the number of visitors from Singapore and other Southeast Asian markets.
During the meeting, the Salvadoran delegation presented the country’s progress in security, infrastructure, connectivity, and tourism development, as well as its growing international recognition as an emerging destination.

They also showcased El Salvador’s tourism offerings, highlighting segments such as cultural, archaeological, historical, nature, adventure, and surf tourism. The opportunities offered by Central American integration to develop multi-destination tours targeting the Asian market were also discussed.
The salvadoran ambassador to Singapore, Jaime López, stated that the progress made in recent years allows the country to be presented as an increasingly attractive destination for tourists, investors, and international partners.

The president of NATAS, Steven Ler, expressed the organization’s interest in learning more about the evolution of salvadoran tourism and evaluating potential partnerships with Singaporean travel agencies and tour operators to include El Salvador in their destination offerings.
As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue exploring cooperation mechanisms and developing future tourism promotion activities that will help position El Salvador in the Asian market and generate new opportunities for the national tourism sector.
