A group of 75 salvadorans departed for Alaska, USA, to work in the seafood processing industry, as part of the Programa de Movilidad Laboral promoted by the Government of El Salvador in coordination with the US government.
The Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Patricia Godínez, highlighted that this initiative continues to generate employment opportunities for salvadorans through regular, orderly, and safe migration mechanisms.

Before their trip, the workers received training on their labor rights, their immigration status, and health and safety recommendations for their stay in the United States.
The Programa de Movilidad Laboral, promoted by the government of President Nayib Bukele, seeks to connect salvadorans with temporary employment opportunities abroad, allowing them access to formal jobs and reducing the risks of irregular migration.

Authorities indicated that support for participants is provided throughout the entire process, from their departure from the country to their return, ensuring that the work experience takes place under suitable conditions.
With this new group of workers, the Government continues to expand employment opportunities abroad and strengthen safe migration pathways for salvadorans.
