Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face a challenge that goes beyond securing financing: they need liquidity, information, and tools that allow them to better manage their operations and make timely decisions.
In response to this reality, Ábaco is expanding its ecosystem of solutions for SMEs, incorporating business management tools and Artificial Intelligence into its digital financing offering.
The salvadoran fintech company, which recently raised US$53 million, seeks to leverage this new growth phase to expand the solutions it offers to businesses and support them at different stages of their development.
In its first three years of operation, Ábaco has already exceeded US$100 million in financing originated for SMEs in the region, with more than 22,000 disbursements. Far from being a destination, this figure marks the starting point of a new stage: driven by its recent capital raise and the expansion of its ecosystem, the company projects originating more than US$350 million in credit and reaching more than 10,000 SMEs in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.
From financing to supporting growth
Financing continues to be one of the main components of Ábaco’s offering. Through its invoice discounting model, companies can convert their accounts receivable into liquidity through a digital process.
However, the company argues that access to capital is only one part of an SME’s needs.
“A company needs capital to grow, but it also needs to know how its business is performing, have organized information, and have tools that allow it to make better decisions. Our commitment is to support SMEs in that process and not limit our relationship with them only to when they need financing”, said Carlos Villalobos, Co-founder of Ábaco.

Business suite: technology to streamline operations
As part of this evolution, Ábaco presents Business Suite, a platform that centralizes essential SME operational processes in one place. The tool integrates electronic invoicing, real-time inventory, sales, purchases, and financial reports, allowing business owners to have organized information to better understand their company’s performance.
Under the concept “Organize your business. Take off with Ábaco”, Business Suite will be available starting at US$35 per month plus VAT.
In addition, customers referred by Ábaco can obtain a 50% discount for the first three months using the code ABACO50. The platform aims to address one of the main challenges for small businesses: having systems that allow them to professionalize their operations without having to incorporate multiple independent tools.
Artificial Intelligence applied to finance
The second initiative in this new phase seeks to bring Artificial Intelligence closer to the financial management of SMEs. In partnership with Kodigo, Ábaco will host a Masterclass on AI applied to the financial management of SMEs, based on the Financial Intelligence with AI Assistants program.
For four hours, business owners and financial professionals will learn practical applications of AI for cash flow analysis, identification of critical expenses, building dynamic financial dashboards, and evaluating financing alternatives, including factoring and traditional credit.
The event is geared towards business owners, general managers, CFOs, and accountants of SMEs with between 5 and 80 employees.
The Masterclass will be held on thursday, september 10, 2026, at La Oveja Negra Restaurant in San Salvador. The cost is US$95 per person and includes a networking breakfast.
As part of this initiative, Ábaco will be sponsoring scholarships to facilitate access to this training for business owners and bring Artificial Intelligence tools to more SMEs.

A New Vision for SMEs
The incorporation of these tools reflects a broader vision for Ábaco: that SMEs can find solutions within a single ecosystem to streamline their operations, manage their liquidity, and make more informed financial decisions.
This proposal is part of the «Adelantate», initiative, which aims to motivate entrepreneurs to anticipate their needs and opportunities instead of reacting to challenges as they arise.
“We want SMEs to be able to get ahead: of their liquidity needs, their financial decisions, and growth opportunities. To that end, we are building an ecosystem that combines financing, technology, and knowledge. We also want to help more entrepreneurs access these tools, which is why we will be sponsoring scholarships for the AI Masterclass with Kodigo”, says Villalobos.
With this new offering, Ábaco continues to expand its presence in the region’s business ecosystem and develop digital solutions aimed at strengthening the management and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.
