The minister of Labor Rolando Castro has announced that 3,000 salvadorans will be able to travel in 2024 to work in the different canadian companies with which they managed to have common agreements.

"We visited a company (in Canada) where 25% are salvadoran workers; they told us that for the next year 75% must be of our compatriots, because they recognize the labor force", described the minister.

These data were provided by the official in a press conference where he announced the results obtained in his visit to Canada, where he expected to reach agreements with companies in that country, so that salvadoran labor can work with temporary work visas.

The official emphasized that they met with businessmen from the pharmaceutical, agricultural and apple production sectors. "In the last farm we visited, they asked us to make arrangements to send the first 200 salvadoran workers", said the official.

Castro also spoke about the fact that a financial advisory strategy is being built with this program. "We have some workers in Canada who have invested in livestock and when they come to El Salvador they are micro-entrepreneurs", said the minister.
