Mexico in view of expanding business with El Salvador

Written by Denis Muñoz

Entrepreneurs and businessmen from the region of Tapachula, state of Chiapas, in southern Mexico, participated in a virtual forum for business promotion organized by the diplomatic representation of El Salvador in that country, recently, with a view to attract investors from that destination.

The activity responds to the interest expressed by the private sector of that locality to learn about the opportunities and advantages offered by the nation for the implementation of productive projects.

In this regard, Ambassador Delmy Cañas highlighted the location of our country in the region, as well as its proximity to the southern part of Mexico, which makes it a strategic point to operate and reach different markets.

She said that the advances in security and economic matters, as well as the incentives, policies and business climate, in addition to the labor force, are also factors why foreign investors are targeting the country to expand or promote their business ideas.

In addition, she highlighted the possibilities offered by the Free Trade Agreement in force between the two countries, which allows different products to enter with preferential tariffs, thus boosting bilateral trade.

She also shared information on the flow of exports from El Salvador to Mexico, highlighting that in 2023 there was an increase in sales of 10.6% compared to 2022, while for the current year, an upward trend is maintained.

"That is why, with this type of event, in addition to presenting our investment potential, we also aim to continue promoting salvadoran exports and strengthening our economic and commercial exchanges", said Ambassador Cañas.
