Walmart de México y Centroamérica continues working on actions to achieve zero food waste, donating those products from stores and plants that due to some visual defect in their packaging cannot be sold, but are completely suitable for human consumption, an action that benefits the Food Banks in the Region.

In El Salvador, Walmart's goal for this year is to recover 47% of food products fit for human consumption. It carried out a new volunteering activity that consisted of organizing packages with food products and delivering them to the bank's beneficiary institutions. The activity was attended by 25 volunteers from La Despensa de Don Juan stores, who chose and rescued products, which will be delivered to vulnerable communities that benefit from the institution. In addition, during the volunteer activity, staff from the Banco de Alimentos de El Salvador gave a talk on agricultural rescue to reinforce the donations of fruits and vegetables.
