BAC Credomatic El Salvador has invested US$12.5 million in upgrading the facilities and equipment of its new data center, or data center located in its offices in San Marcos.

With this investment in the modernization of the servers, hardware and software, affiliated businesses, cardholders and clients will be able to operate with extraordinary levels of confidence, since the bank's main services will be running in an environment with high security standards and with proven contingency plans for any external element that affects the flow of information.

With this investment, BAC Credomatic's data center becomes the first company in El Salvador to achieve two TIER 3 certifications by the Uptime Institute of Professional Services, from the United States, and validated by Data Center Consultores (DCC), from Costa Rica.

"Thanks to this commitment to excellence, BAC Credomatic joins an exclusive group of leading companies around the world, with a clear competitive advantage", said José Miguel Monge, COO of DCC.

These certifications began more than 25 years ago by the Uptime Institute and provide a unique mark of excellence for leading companies around the world.

With organization-specific, component-level and performance evaluations, and an extremely thorough and unbiased site visit, few programs can match the caliber of assessment offered by the Uptime Institute. To date, more than 2,500 certifications have been issued in over 110 countries.

TIERs (or levels) recognize the robustness and optimal performance of data centers. The U.S. institute evaluates and awards different levels of achievement. BAC Credomatic has been awarded TIER 3 recognition for both the optimal design of its center and its facilities.

"At BAC Credomatic we are committed to generating prosperity in the communities we serve, and to achieve this, it is essential to ensure access and agility of our services 24/7", said Fernando Gonzalez, President of BAC Credomatic El Salvador.

Certification assessments have with guidance to address points for improvement, as well as to identify strengths. TIER certification offers benefits, including international respect by showing stakeholders, and clients, that rigorous standards are met, as determined by an impartial third party.

"We are pleased to award BAC Credomatic El Salvador with Tier III Certification for its data center facilities", said Mozart Mello, general manager of Latin America at Uptime Institute. The certification guarantees that a facility has been built according to design and verifies that it is capable of meeting the established availability requirements. The award demonstrates that BAC Credomatic has built its data center in accordance with the expected performance capacity, efficiency and reliability”.

At the same time, the technological innovations made in BAC's data center allow for greater efficiency in energy consumption, which reduces the carbon footprint, consistent with the vision of being the first Net Positive bank in its operations in the six Central American countries.

Representatives of the bank said that efforts will continue so that, in the medium term, certifications of excellence will continue to be obtained.
