The Secretary of Innovation held a discussion between technology and cybersecurity personnel from salvadoran public institutions and their counterparts from the European Union, with the purpose of having an exchange of experiences and best practices.

“This is a bilateral talk where what we want is to share the experiences of the European Union officials with the officials of El Salvador, we believe that we can learn a lot, skip a big learning curve if we can take advantage of everything they have gone through and advanced, and everything they can contribute to us as a country; we believe and trust in the support of the European Union that over time has given us in different projects and in the construction of different things”, said Secretary of Innovation Daniel Menendez.

The meeting was attended by cybersecurity and technology experts working for governments of countries such as Estonia and Croatia, who addressed issues such as cybersecurity governance and the development of effective responses to computer emergencies.

The European bloc is also investing in the efforts of the Government of El Salvador to digitize the country in different areas: from connectivity, through the development of applications for micro, small and medium enterprises, to digital training in communities that had no access to technological tools.

The Secretary of Innovation also highlighted the effort that this administration, with the support of the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Republic of Korea, has made to bring connectivity to more than 5,000 schools nationwide.
