A. M. To protect the family economy and the health of the population, the Government of El Salvador, through the Defensoría del Consumidor, has launched a national plan of inspections prior to the celebration of Mother’s Day, on may 10.
This strategy seeks to ensure that Salvadorans can purchase quality products at fair prices during one of the most important holidays of the year. Verification actions have been intensified throughout the country, especially in restaurants, supermarkets, and other commercial establishments.
The plan includes two key areas: verification of compliance with the Consumer Protection Law and the defense of consumer rights. In this regard, the inspections are focused on avoiding the sale of expired products or products that do not have the proper expiration date labeling.
Authorities have emphasized that these actions are preventative and seek not only to protect consumers’ health but also to prevent abusive practices that affect their wallets, especially at a time when consumption typically increases.
The Government reiterates its commitment to the well-being of salvadorans and calls on merchants to act responsibly and transparently, respecting current regulations to ensure a safe and reliable shopping experience.
