According to the daily report published by the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) meat prices have experienced increases compared to the last week of 2023.

This increase in meat prices, means a blow to the economy and more expenses for the pocket of salvadorans.

The report presents an increase in the price of the posta de pecho, which at the end of 2023 was at a price of US$4.00 per pound, currently has a price of US$4.60, having an increase of US$0.60.

The black meat, puyazo and sirloin remain at US$4.00 per pound, as does the loin, which is priced at US$4.70.

Pork prices have maintained their prices compared to the last week of 2023, with the price of pork rinds at US$6.00 per pound, ribs at US$3.00 per pound, and pork shoulder at US$2.70 per pound.

As for white meats, chicken has increased its price, as the price of the thigh pound went from US$1.35 to US$1.40, increasing its value by US$0.05, while the breast maintains its price at US$1.75 per pound.

As for fish, the price of snook increased from US$2.50 per pound to US$6.00 per pound, increasing its value by US$3.50.

Tilapia maintains its price at US$2.00 per pound, as well as medium shrimp, which maintains its price at US$5.00 per pound, and the slice at US$3.50 per pound.
