El Salvador was awarded US$126.74 million in CETES yesterday

The Central Government held an auction of 360-day Certificados del Tesoro (CETES), awarding US$126.74 million, this was announced by ASIB through its twitter account.

The Ministerio de Hacienda went to the local market to carry out the Certificados del Tesoro, and was awarded US$126.74 million at a yield of 7.50%.

In a report issued by the Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development (FUSADES), it states that El Salvador reports the highest debt balance in its history with a term of less than one year.

FUSADES indicates in its report, that the balance of Letras del Tesoro (LETES) reached US$1,422.7 million. To this amount it is necessary to add US$645.8 million of Certificados del Tesoro (CETES) issued last september, bringing the debt with a maturity of less than one year to approximately US$2,068.5 million.

But FUSADES states that the Ministerio de Hacienda is constantly making new placements to pay the monthly maturities of LETES. During the next twelve months there are LETES maturities.

In addition, the Asociación Salvadoreña de Intermediarios Bursátiles (ASIB), indicates through its social networks that Salvadorans can consult with the Brokerage Houses, the information related to the placement dates, characteristics and everything concerning the CETES negotiations.
