Currently, more than 100,000 people visit Cerro Verde Natural Park annually, a destination considered a tourist jewel for its imposing natural infrastructure: the Izalco and Ilamatepec volcanoes.
The hotel has 20 rooms, a reception area, a cafeteria area, a terrace with a view of the Izalco volcano, an area for relaxation and contact with nature, an event hall, and a first-class restaurant. Its start-up will generate 100 direct and indirect jobs, 95% of which will be local.
In addition, the Instituto Salvadoreño de Turismo (ISTU) has worked with local tourist guides to provide foreign and national visitors with an interpretation of the Natural Kingdom in an educational and different way.
The "Tourist Guides" project was created to involve people from the communities surrounding Cerro Verde, with the objective of giving young people an opportunity to learn and dedicate their time to something different, so that visitors can enjoy nature in an important natural reserve.
The Hotel de Montaña Cerro Verde reactivation project is part of the development pole of the western part of the country and one of the bets for mountain tourism.
