Defensoría conducted biosafety checks in restaurants

Written by Evelyn Alas

The President of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Ricardo Salazar, explained in a morning interview that the institution has carried out verifications in food stores, with the objective of avoiding that the products affect the health of consumers.

They also carried out inspections in the kitchens of restaurants, ensuring that each product used and tools for food preparation were in optimal conditions for their proper use.

Likewise, the Defensoría del Consumidor is developing its inspection plan to guarantee the respect of consumers' rights during the New Year holidays, in the main shopping centers of the country and e-commerce.

The head of the institution calls on suppliers and consumers not to lower the biosecurity measures issued by the Ministry of Health, in order to reduce the risks of contagion and protect the health of the salvadoran population.

The Defensoría del Consumidor affirms that it will act firmly in case of detecting abuses or practices that harm or violate the rights of consumers during their purchases.

Salvadorans can make their queries to the telephone number 910, or its Whatsapp 7860-9704.
