CEPA plans to serve more than 250,000 people entering and leaving the country

The Tourism Cabinet integrated by the Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR) and the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA), announced the opening of the Holy Week vacation season projecting that more than 35 thousand people will enter the country through Aeropuerto Internacional de El Salvador "San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez".

In addition, from april 9 to 18, more than 250 thousand people are expected to enter and leave the country.

The President of CEPA, Federico Anliker, said that this figure is equivalent to 32.3% above the same period in 2019, he also added that it has recovered (the flow) by 93.3% compared to the same period in 2019.

According to officials, from april 8 to 20, the Vacation Plan 2022 will be activated, which will be integrated by CEPA, the Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) and the Viceministerio de Transporte (VMT).

He also noted that from january 1 to april 3, more than 866 thousand passengers were handled and 9,290 commercial flight operations were carried out.

They affirmed that the new immigration area allows for the streamlining of passenger entry procedures, with more than 84 thousand passengers transiting since the airport expansion was inaugurated.

The General Director of Customs, Samadhy Martínez, indicated that there are more than 900 collaborators who will be part of this plan of attention to the tourists during the Easter vacations.

They said that these are professionals in the areas of maintenance, customer service, facilitation, cleaning, security, rescue, medical equipment, air operations, the work is 24/7 and urged carriers to carry out the processes in advance to expedite their passage through the borders.
