The Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), informs that the first phase of the Registro Único de Productores Agroalimentarios (RUPA) was extended for three more days, salvadorans have until today April 25, for agricultural producers nationwide to register and receive the benefits established by the Central Government.

Farmers registered until today will be able to apply to the Agricultural Package program. The MAG points out that the system will remain active so that other producers nationwide can register, the registration will facilitate access to other programs.

This first stage of RUPA applies to basic grains producers, specifically those who grow corn and beans, who must fill out the forms available at https://piatec.mag.gob.sv/ to obtain a digital ID card and become part of the first registry of agricultural producers.

With tools like this, it will be possible to know the number of active agricultural producers in the country, as well as the cultivated land, a registry that has been obsolete for more than 15 years, due to the lack of interest in one of the most important sectors for the development of the country.

The MAG assures that from the beginning it has sought to ensure food security for salvadorans, so it has spared no effort in strengthening agriculture, since the reactivation of this sector.

As part of this effort, the second disbursement of US$1.7 million was recently made to 67 agricultural organizations in the eastern part of the country as part of the Rural Adelante program to increase the sustainable income of rural families living in poverty and vulnerability.
