In the case of corn in the department of San Miguel 30 land blocks were affected by the winds, in Morazán 8 blocks, La Unión 95 blocks.
For the certified seed produced in the department of Usulután, 30 blocks were totally damaged by excess humidity and water concentration.
Likewise, for rice, in the Zapotitán sector, 400 land blocks are reported damaged by flooding. They have made available all the machinery to unclog the necessary canals in the irrigation districts; in the east there are no reports of damage to this grain.
For beans there are no reports of rain damage, but the head of MAG, Enrique Parada, recommends that producers use fungicides to prevent the spread of fungi and thus avoid losses.
In the case of coffee, the accesses to the plantations are affected and, due to excessive winds, they estimate a 5% impact on the national coffee harvest, data collected together with the Asociación Cafetalera de El Salvador (ACAFESAL). In this sector, the use of fungicides is also urgent.
In vegetables, damage to greenhouses was reported in Chalatenango; the most serious damage was reported in San Cayetano, San Vicente. In fruits, 4 blocks of citrus were damaged; in Usulután, 4 blocks of plantain were damaged and 16 blocks were flooded.
