According to the head of the CDC, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) indicates that international food prices and food commodities are on the rise, including flour, fats, oils, soybeans and corn.

Nayda Medrano, expert in Public Policies mentions that due to the country's vulnerability, a space for dialogue should be opened to transform the way in which food is produced and consumed in the country.

Commodities are basic goods that are used as inputs in the production of other goods and can be used in trade or in the financial sector, as objects of acquisition (underlying assets).

Likewise, Danilo Perez, indicates that the corresponding authorities must have a strategic view, since being aware of the price of food is fundamental. He stated that it is good that the country has grown economically, but, on the other hand, they observe an increase in poverty.
