The iconic salvadoran beverage Kolashanpan, produced by Embotelladora La Cascada, is now available on Amazon—a move that strengthens the presence of domestic products in international e-commerce and expands export opportunities to new markets, especially for salvadorans living abroad.
By joining the e-commerce platform, the company aims to make one of El Salvador’s most iconic products more accessible, allowing consumers in different countries to purchase the beverage more easily.
Alejandro Battle, vice president of Embotelladora La Cascada, noted that Kolashanpan was officially launched in 1965 and has since established itself as one of the country’s most iconic beverages.
Federico Battle, president of Flavor Focus—the company that markets Embotelladora La Cascada in the United States—confirmed that the beverage is now part of Amazon’s catalog, as part of the company’s international expansion strategy.

“Kolashanpan is already on Amazon. For us, exports are very important because there are many salvadorans in the United States who are asking for our products”, he said.
The beverage’s arrival on the platform was supported by Invest in El Salvador, an institution that provided guidance on regulatory, logistical, customs, and commercial matters to facilitate the product’s entry into the international market.
The president of Invest in El Salvador, Rodrigo Ayala, explained that the institution’s goal is not only to attract investment to the country but also to support domestic companies in expanding their exports and strengthening their presence in international markets.

Kolashanpan’s entry into Amazon marks a new step in the internationalization of the salvadoran beverage industry, as it leverages one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms to increase the visibility of domestic products.
With this strategy, Embotelladora La Cascada aims to strengthen its exports, meet the demand of salvadoran consumers abroad, and contribute to economic growth by expanding products with a national identity into new markets.
