A total of 281 women entrepreneurs successfully completed their training in the Mujer Emprende program, an initiative promoted by the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) with the support of the European Union in El Salvador and the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID). The program aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of salvadoran women and support the growth of their businesses.
The participants are heads of household, single mothers, and women with business ideas or existing businesses, from the districts of San Martín, Tonacatepeque, El Carmen, Colón, Santa Ana, San Miguel, San Dionisio, Jiquilisco, Arambala, Jocoaitique, and Gualococti. Through the program, they received practical tools to improve the management of their productive initiatives and expand their opportunities for economic development.

During the graduation ceremony, Karla de Palma, director of Agencia de El Salvador para la Cooperación Internacional (ESCO), emphasized that the process represents much more than simply receiving a diploma. She noted that the training received reflects the effort, perseverance, and determination of each participant to invest in their personal and professional growth.
De Palma stated that the program’s completion marks the beginning of a new chapter for these women entrepreneurs, as greater economic autonomy expands their opportunities to make decisions about their future and that of their families. She also highlighted the impact that strengthening women’s entrepreneurship has on the country’s economic and social development.

Paul Steiner, president of CONAMYPE, explained that the participants acquired key knowledge for managing their businesses, including cost analysis, identifying potential clients, developing marketing strategies, and strengthening the soft skills necessary for entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, the women entrepreneurs received training in financial projections, cash flow management, and business planning. Steiner noted that this knowledge is fundamental to reducing the risks businesses face during their first years of operation and improving their chances of growth and sustainability.

The program also enabled participants to develop business profiles and investment plans, tools that can serve as a foundation for expanding their ventures and accessing new financing opportunities or business support.
Mujer Emprende is part of the efforts aimed at strengthening women’s economic participation throughout the country, promoting income generation, business development, and job creation. Through these types of initiatives, participating institutions seek to provide support and training so that more women can transform their projects into sustainable businesses and contribute to the dynamism of the national economy.
