The Defensoría del Consumidor is monitoring different supply chains, on january 12 it started with basic grains and today, they activated another important phase within the plan and it is related to agricultural input trading companies.

 

 

"Within the verification spectrum are essential products such as fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and others within the agricultural activity that are being marketed without any alteration or abuse in terms of price", said the president of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Ricardo Salazar.

The institution found in the first companies verified, among them Diagri S.A de C.V, and El Surco S.A de C.V, in Lourdes Colón, that there is a quite positive outlook on supply conditions and also on price, so that it announced that there are favorable conditions for the consumer, in certain products.

"In fertilizers they have had important price reductions that can be around 20% or 25%, situation in which the Defensoría del Consumidor will be watching that the reductions are transferred to the consumers", announced Salazar.

These inspections are part of the surveillance efforts against price speculation and supply, which is key for national production, focusing this time on all segments of farmers and ranchers that are essential for economic activity.

To date, 22 large companies have been inspected, the information required is related to inventories, kárdex movements that allow to know the income of each product and sales transactions; in addition, information is obtained on the chain of clients and commercialization with which they have.
