The benefit will go to 17 artisan families in the community of El Zarzal de Chalatenango, who make clothing and hand-embroidery.
According to CONAMYPE, this is the third community workshop created since 2020, one in Santo Domingo de Guzmán, Sonsonate, and another in Concepción Quezaltepeque, also in Chalatenango, with a total investment of US$90,000.
To date, 293 new product prototypes have been developed, 93 artisan workshops have been advised to incorporate industrialization processes, and there has been a 43.56% increase in the productivity of the artisan workshops served.
The activity seeks to boost the economy of the households of the women artisans in the community, with which they will be able to equip their community workshops with tools, machinery and raw materials that will help improve the quality of their handicraft products and increase their productivity.
