The Ministerio de Economía (MINEC), informs salvadorans about the new variations in fuel prices that will present a reduction of US$0.28 for regular and premium gasoline, and US$0.10 for diesel, effective from march 14 to 21, 2022.

These reductions are due to the suspension for 3 months of US$0.26 of the Contribución al Transporte (CONTRANS), US$0.02 of the Fondo de Estabilización para el Fomento Económico (FEFE) tax by decree of the Central Government.

People who purchase higher gasoline will have a decrease of US$0.28 in the central, western and eastern zones with a suggested price of US$4.35 and US$4.31.

Salvadorans using regular gasoline will have a reduction of US$0.28 in the central, western and eastern zones with a suggested price of US$4.19 and US$4.15.

As for diesel, carriers will see a reduction of US$0.10 in the central, western and eastern zones, with a recommended price of US$4.18 and US$4.14.

According to the Legislative Assembly, the term of this measure could be extended depending on the evolution of world inflation.

Use the air conditioning when necessary or else the car will use a little more gas, especially if you drive at low speed.

Likewise, fuel prices vary depending on the gas stations. Even if the difference is only a few cents, on a full tank of gas, it can mean a few dollars of savings.
