AgroMercados, promoted by the División de AgroNegocios de la Dirección General de Economía Agropecuaria (DGEA),  reached a historic figure of over US$1 million in sales, mobilized from january to september in the 13 editions implemented nationwide.

These sales directly benefit close to 1,250 producer families from different regions, of which 114 producers have their sales spaces, of which 20 are young people and 60 are women, representing 70.2% of the total number of participants.

Women producers are among the main beneficiaries, since the Women's AgroMercado, which is held every wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, has generated income of more than US$364,000; all of them are household leaders and members of different cooperative associations.

The AgroMercado has become an alternative that directly connects producers with consumers, bringing high quality and fresh products to salvadoran households at a more convenient price.

AgroNegocios promotes 13 AgroMercados nationwide, being the one on saturday, at the MAG headquarters, the one that has mobilized more resources, with 53% and more than $530,000 marketed during 9 months.

"The item with the highest volumes of marketing in the MAG AgroMercados is fruits and vegetables, reaching from january 2022 to date an amount of $346,454.54, which means 39% of the total amount marketed", said Francisco Linares, head of the AgroNegocios Division.
