The head of the ministry of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, informed that there are important advances in the Central American integration process, one of them being the unification of a border point, with which carriers will only have to pass through one control point, speeding up the process of importing and exporting products.
"I am pleased to share that we are making good progress in our Central American integration process. Soon we will be looking at the integration of the El Amatillo border post, in which transports would only pass through a border post that we would be sharing with Honduras", said Hayem.
The official explained that as with the El Amatillo border, work is being done for the integration of five other crossing points that El Salvador shares with Honduras and Guatemala; this as one of the measures for trade facilitation.
One of the fundamental axes for trade facilitation is the implementation of technologies to simplify processes and significantly reduce waiting times at the borders. "We are digitizing and simplifying processes to streamline trade and continue generating a favorable business climate in our country. Thanks to the work we are promoting in trade facilitation, we are advancing in our Central American economic integration process", she said. This integration effort is an opportunity to improve the efficiency of our trade operations and foster an environment of mutually beneficial collaboration.
The Central Government will continue to work to build a business environment that drives economic growth, generates employment and strengthens ties between neighboring nations.
