Written by Karla Gutiérrez

The report of the Superintendencia del Sistema Financiero (SSF) indicates that, up to december 31, 2023, savings accounts in the banking sector show an increase of 4.3%, compared to the same date in 2022.

This growth is a reflection of the confidence of users to allocate money in the country's supervised banks.

SSF statistics show that savings accounts in banks, cooperative banks and Sociedades de Ahorro y Crédito (SAC) increased by 4.3%, which translates into US$261.67 million until the last month of last year.

The Superintendencia Financiera registers a total of US$6,322.49 million in the savings accounts of salvadorans, higher than the figure registered in 2022, when it was US$6,060.83 million.
