El Salvador attracts spanish investors to work on new projects in the country

The Presidential Commissioner for Strategic Projects, Cristian Flores, presented to spanish companies the panorama of business opportunities offered by the country, and the strategic projects promoted by the Government.

The official highlighted one of the most ambitious projects of the current government is the Regional Transformation and Distribution Center at the Port of La Union, with which they are betting on boosting trade in the Central American region, connecting El Salvador with new terminals, markets, and trading partners.

The spanish ambassador in El Salvador, Carlos de la Morena, affirmed that commercial relations between both nations have been boosted in recent years, and stated that in 2022 Spanish exports to El Salvador amounted to US$155 million, while those from El Salvador to Spain were around US$73 million.

As for the accumulated investment of Spain in El Salvador, it is above US$1,000 million, being Spain the country that has invested more in El Salvador in the first half of 2023, according to Invest El Salvador.

What detonates, the good relations that both countries are having, for which other meetings will be held to discuss other investment issues in which spanish companies could be parties.

Since, according to the ambassador, they are looking for El Salvador to know first hand the competence and specialization angle that Iberian companies have in order to achieve a fair and productive benefit for both parties.
