According to the report of the Secretaria Ejecutiva del Concejo Monetario Centroamericano (SECMCA) in El Salvador the Índice de Volumen de Actividad Económica (IVAE),  in seasonally adjusted series, registered a variation of 0.83% in march 2024.

The report showed that for the month of march the IVAE had a score of 122.86, in agriculture and livestock was 101.19 points, in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in manufacturing industries, mining and quarrying and other industrial activities is 104.81 points, construction showed 144.69 points, trade, transport and storage, accommodation and food service activities was 129.86 points, financial and insurance activities was with a score of 159.92 and real estate activities with 103.74 points.

Compared to previous months in the IPI Index, manufacturing industries, mining and quarrying and other industrial activities showed a score of 106.61, which indicates that in the last update it dropped 2 points.

In the salvadoran construction sector there was a variation of around 10 points, as it previously scored 135.61 points.

Although some specific sectors such as construction and financial and insurance activities show high scores and growth, the overall pace of the economy is in decline in some industrial sectors.
