The Superior Council of Labor will seek to build policies in favor of salvadoran workers

Written by Evelyn Alas

The Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, announced in a morning interview that this coming Wednesday the Superior Labor Council will be installed. This is a tripartite instance, conformed by workers, businessmen and Government, which is in charge of building public policies in labor matters.

The installation of the Council will be attended by the regional director of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Vinícius Carvalho Pinheiro, who will come to the country for this event.

Minister Castro emphasized that national dialogue is privileged in the Central Government, so that the Superior Labor Council will continue working to reach important agreements for the benefit of the population.

The official said that he has requested that, in this body, political issues be kept aside and an eminently technical dialogue be established, in order to build, in an articulated manner, public policies for the creation of decent jobs in El Salvador.

He also said that he has faith and is convinced that the Council will be a tripartite scenario, where transparent dialogue, negotiation, agreements and consensus will be privileged.
