Allied countries congratulate President Nayib Bukele on his election victory

On february 4th, different countries that are friends of El Salvador congratulated President Nayib Bukele for his election results. 

 

 

The first country to offer him their support and congratulations was The People's Republic of China in their social network X (formerly twitter) reads:

"We extend our most sincere congratulations to President Nayib Bukele and his party Nuevas Ideas, for the historic triumph in these elections", said the chinese diplomatic headquarters in its X account.

"From now on, we make ourselves available to strengthen ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation between both countries", the publication added.

Likewise, Ecuador extended its congratulations to the Salvadoran president for his success in the elections and reaffirmed its commitment to continue working with the region.

"We congratulate President Nayib Bukele on his election for a new term, as well as the salvadoran people for their exemplary civic and democratic attitude. "Ecuador and El Salvador will continue to promote an active bilateral agenda of cooperation and friendship", said the headquarters.

The President of Panama, Nito Cortizo greeted his salvadoran counterpart on social networks for the victory at the polls this sunday, february 4.

"I extend my congratulations to President Nayib Bukele for his election for a new presidential term and our recognition to the salvadoran people for the democratic exercise carried out today", said the panamanian president.

Other countries that expressed their support were Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

"A cordial greeting to President Nayib Bukele, the salvadoran people have chosen and have made their will heard.

Guatemala extends its hand to move forward in peace and development for our sister nations", said the guatemalan counterpart.

"Congratulations to the people of El Salvador who, with self-determination, without interference, with democratic and patriotic will, have once again given power to a man who does things right, Nayib Bukele, congratulations from the National Congress of Honduras, as well as to all elected congressmen Ernesto Castro", said Luis Redondo, President of Honduras.

Mexico issued a statement through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and its Embassy in El Salvador, extending its warmest congratulations to the salvadoran people for the exemplary and peaceful election day held today. This democratic act reflects the civic strength of El Salvador, reads the press release.

Mexico reiterates its commitment to work shoulder to shoulder with El Salvador, with the objective of continuing to strengthen our ties of friendship, cooperation and bilateral development. We are convinced that, together, we can overcome challenges and build a prosperous future for both nations and for the region as a whole.

We reaffirm our desire to continue to work closely with the government of President Bukele and his team, to advance the common agenda that our nations share, on issues of vital importance such as economic development, security and social welfare", he said.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Ambassador Dudan also extended their congratulations to Nayib Bukele.

"Congratulations to President-elect Nayib Bukele of El Salvador on his election victory. The United States anticipates continuing to prioritize good governance, the rule of law, inclusive economic prosperity, due process guarantees and human rights in El Salvador under the Homegrown Causes Strategy", he said.

 "I congratulate President-elect Nayib Bukele and the other winners of yesterday's elections. I applaud the salvadoran people who made their voices heard. We look forward to continuing to work with the elected representatives of the Salvadoran people to strengthen democracy, expand economic opportunities and address the shared challenges of the 21st century", he said.
