The President of Panama, Nito Cortizo greeted his salvadoran counterpart on social networks for the victory at the polls this sunday, february 4.

"I extend my congratulations to President Nayib Bukele for his election for a new presidential term and our recognition to the salvadoran people for the democratic exercise carried out today", said the panamanian president.

Other countries that expressed their support were Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

Mexico issued a statement through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and its Embassy in El Salvador, extending its warmest congratulations to the salvadoran people for the exemplary and peaceful election day held today. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Ambassador Dudan also extended their congratulations to Nayib Bukele.

"Congratulations to President-elect Nayib Bukele of El Salvador on his election victory. The United States anticipates continuing to prioritize good governance, the rule of law, inclusive economic prosperity, due process guarantees and human rights in El Salvador under the Homegrown Causes Strategy", he said.
