As part of World Environment Day, employees of La Constancia and International Transport Logistics (ITL) joined forces in a day of environmental volunteering that reaffirms the joint commitment to the restoration and protection of the San Salvador Volcano, through the ISKALI project.

ISKALI is an initiative led by La Constancia since 2021, with the support of Coca-Cola and the technical execution of The Nature Conservancy Fund (TNC) and Biosistemas Network. Since its launch, it has made significant progress in the ecological restoration of this key area for the country’s water and climate sustainability, with an accumulated investment of over US$1 million.
In 2024, ITL joined the project as a strategic partner, allocating more than $70,000 to the restoration of 15 hectares of cloud forest in the Picacho sector, a priority area for its rich biodiversity and carbon sequestration capacity.
“ISKALI demonstrates that when companies act with purpose, the results are felt in the land, in the water and in the lives of the communities. We were pioneers in the regeneration of the green heart of San Salvador, and today, with more than 880 hectares transformed, together with our allies we are creating a future with more reasons to celebrate”, said Javier Benavides, Sustainability and Reputation manager of La Constancia.
The San Salvador Volcano is not only a natural icon, but also a green lung and the area with the highest water recharge rate in the Metropolitan Area, it regulates the climate, captures CO₂ and is the habitat of multiple species.

ISKALI was born to recover and restore key ecosystems and strengthen the water and agricultural resilience of the territory.
“This volunteer day is not a symbolic gesture. It is part of a long-term commitment to care for the forest and water that we all need. Today we are demonstrating that logistics can also be green. That it is possible to move the country without forgetting the ground we walk on”, said Jorge Serrano, general manager of ITL.
During the day, the volunteers participated in reforestation activities and maintenance of areas previously intervened, reaffirming that collective action and intersectoral work are fundamental to face environmental challenges.
