Mayor's Office of San Salvador exonerates capital city residents from fines and interests

The Mayor's Office of San Salvador informed through its digital media, that Mayor Mario Duran together with the municipal council exempts from fines and interest payments to the capital's residents who are up to date with their debts with the municipality until september 19.

"To meet the needs of the population and also to make the economy of the capital more dynamic, this new ordinance was launched with the purpose of exempting those who own a property in the municipality of San Salvador from delinquent interest. They will be able to pay their debt, referring to rates and special contributions for the municipal services they receive without any type of surcharge", declared Carlos Palacios, director of Finance of the municipality.

The municipal government authorities reminded of the importance of being up to date with the payment of taxes, which are used for the repair of streets and to attend to rain emergencies during the winter season.

"This benefit applies to taxpayers who own a property, such as a house or apartment and receive our services such as sanitation, final disposal, maintenance of parks and green areas. Payments can be made from the comfort of the home through the platform https://www.sait.sv there you can check account statements, the status of arrears, process payment orders and cancel them with any credit or debit card", Palacios explained.

Payments and other procedures may be made in person from monday to friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the central offices, district offices 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, the Centro de Atención Tributaria (CAT) in the Escalón neighborhood and the Metrocentro agency, which are open from monday to saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
