The Ministry of Education and ITCA launched the first technical career in mechanics and electromobility and also inaugurated the modern practice laboratory.

According to ITCA's rector, Carlos Arriola, this is the first career in electromobility in Central America, and the ninth in Latin America, so students will enter an emerging labor market in the country and will have skills to intervene in electric or hybrid vehicles that are already marketed in the territory.

"We have developed an innovative curriculum. We have a modern practice center that is a combination of laboratory and workshop. We have software with 30 modules for each model (electric or hybrid). In addition, we have more than 1,000 modules for the rest of the vehicles”, Arriola reported.

The teachers of this new career have been trained by specialists from Guatemala and Colombia. Classes have just started and the training process will last two years. The training sessions will be implemented with practical learning methodologies.

The Director of Higher Education, Christian Aparicio, informed that they had projections to start classes of this electromobility technician with 50 students, but this number was surpassed since 426 young people enrolled.

"I thank the ITCA authorities and the Minister of Education for promoting this project that will contribute to the country's mobility", said the official.
