
The International Labour Organization’s (ILO) decision to remove El Salvador from its shortlist of countries under observation for labor issues was welcomed by various business associations, which consider the measure a recognition of the progress achieved in the country and a positive sign for investment and trade.
The Corporación de Exportadores de El Salvador (COEXPORT) stated that this outcome reflects improvements in working conditions, social dialogue, and respect for workers’ rights. Furthermore, it emphasized that the decision strengthens the country’s international image and contributes to building greater confidence among domestic and foreign investors.
The Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI) described the news as a historic milestone and noted that it demonstrates the capacity for consensus among the labor, business, and government sectors. According to the association, the measure opens new opportunities to attract investment, strengthen legal certainty, and boost exports.

The Cámara Americana de Comercio de El Salvador (AmCham) indicated that the removal from the list is the result of the joint effort of the country’s various sectors and believes it will favor foreign investment and export growth.
The Asociación Nacional de la Empresa Privada (ANEP) maintained that the decision improves the country’s risk perception and strengthens El Salvador’s credibility with investors and international organizations. In its view, this recognition can contribute to job creation and increased competitiveness.
Likewise, the Asociación Azucarera de El Salvador highlighted that compliance with international labor standards strengthens market confidence and creates better conditions for the export sector. The association noted that this achievement is the result of coordinated work among workers, businesses, and the government.

Similarly, the Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales de la Leche (ASILECHE) valued the ILO’s decision as recognition of progress in labor matters and social dialogue, emphasizing that it contributes to a favorable environment for investment, employment, and economic development.
Various organizations agreed that El Salvador’s removal from the ILO shortlist strengthens the country’s image, improves its competitiveness, and represents an opportunity to continue promoting investment and export growth.
