A total of 159 families affected by the fraud perpetrated by Corporación Argoz S.A. de C.V. received their property deeds, in a process that released assets valued at approximately $1.6 million to the beneficiaries.
The handover was led by the minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, accompanied by the representative of the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), Mariela Castro. The deeds correspond to lots located in different parts of the country and are part of the efforts to guarantee legal security for families who for decades were unable to legalize their properties.
According to authorities, the 159 lots delivered are part of 40 subdivisions distributed across 11 departments of the country. With this action, the beneficiary families obtain legal ownership of their land, providing them with certainty regarding their assets and greater opportunities to bequeath these properties to future generations.

The minister of Housing emphasized that the handover represents much more than an administrative procedure, as it allows families to secure an asset they had, in many cases, waited for for over 40 years. She also noted that the legalization of the land provides peace of mind to the owners and strengthens the stability of their families.
The amount released to families through the legalization of the 159 lots totals US$1.6 million, a figure that reflects the economic value recovered by the beneficiaries after years of uncertainty regarding the legal status of their properties.

Authorities also reported that this process is part of a broader strategy implemented by the Housing System to regularize properties throughout the country. According to official data, to date, more than 118,600 lots have been legalized, representing a recovery of assets exceeding US$2 billion for salvadoran families.
With the delivery of these deeds, the institutions involved seek to continue resolving long-standing cases related to land tenure and ensure that more families can access legal security over their properties.
